Single tickets are now on sale for Taproot Theatre Company's world premiere of Persuasion July 12 to August 19, 2017. The show features a dream cast: Cayman Ilika, Matthew Posner, Nick DeSantis, Kate Jaeger, Randy Scholz, Sophia Franzella, Chelsea LeValley, ​Ryan Childers, and ​Caitlin Frances. Why not commemorate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Persuasion in Seattle? There's no city more beautiful in the summer.

We are thrilled to announce that PERSUASION: A New Musical will have its world premiere at Seattle's Taproot Theatre Company from July 12, 2017 to August 19, 2017 (possible extension to Sept. 2, 2017). Our Anne Elliot is one of Seattle's finest leading ladies, Cayman Ilika, who may be familiar to you from her starring roles in The 5th Avenue Theatre/ACT co-productions of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and Vanities, as Patsy Cline in Centerstage's Always ... Patsy Cline, and as Mary Poppins in Village Theatre's Mary Poppins. Karen Lund, Director; Jessica Spencer, Assistant Director; Sonja Lowe, Dramaturge. Taproot's season subscriptions go on sale on October 1, 2016. More information to follow!

PERSUASION - Reading at the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop

The staged reading for PERSUASION played to an attentive and appreciative full house  on June 20, 2016. Two new songs; innumerable improvements to the script; and the "best of company"---the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop was a dream come true in the development of the show. Chris and Harold were blessed by an amazing creative team: producer Natasha Davison, director Robert Faires, music director Lyn Koenning; a stellar cast: Rachel James, Tim O'Brien, Matt Buzonas, Claire Lilley, Emily Ott, Shelley Auer, Nick Mayo, David M. Long, Lisa Brescia, and Liz Beckham; and a take-no-prisoners production team: Sarah Hudson, Tyler Osgood, Trace Turner, Kelley Elizabeth Henry, April Hudson, Lia Rodriguez, Texas Performing Arts, and Rusty Cloyes.

It's Austen in Austin! Chris and Harold are thrilled to announce that the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop's New Musical Development Series will be hosting a two-week workshop for PERSUASION, culminating in a staged reading on Monday, June 20, 2016, 7:30pm, Oscar G. Brockett Theatre, University of Texas at Austin. Music direction will be provided by TXMTW founding Artistic Director Lyn Koenning and the workshop will be directed by  director-actor-theatre scholar-writer Robert Faires. 

Admission is free. Reserve seats in advance by emailing persuasionaustin@gmail.com Indicate the name of party and the number attending. Available seats will be released to walk-up patrons five minutes prior to curtain. 

And stay tuned for the public announcement of a 6 to 8 week Seattle production run of PERSUASION set for the summer of 2017 ....
